Display & Design
The iPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch Retina HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1334 × 750 pixels at 326 ppi.
The display supports a wide colour gamut (P3) and offers up to 625 nits typical maximum brightness, providing a brighter and more colourful viewing experience compared with the previous generation.
It also supports 3D Touch, allowing pressure-sensitive interactions in supported versions of iOS.
Apple introduced a redesigned solid-state Home button with haptic feedback while retaining Touch ID fingerprint authentication.
A10 Fusion Performance
The iPhone 7 is powered by Apple’s A10 Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture and an embedded M10 motion coprocessor.
The A10 Fusion uses a four-core CPU design, combining performance and efficiency cores to balance processing power with energy consumption.
It provides improved performance compared with the A9 chip found in the iPhone 6s and handles everyday applications, multimedia, photography, and compatible games efficiently.
12MP Rear Camera with OIS
The iPhone 7 features a 12MP Wide rear camera with an ƒ/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
This was an important upgrade because OIS became available on the standard-size iPhone rather than being limited to the larger Plus model.
Camera features include autofocus with Focus Pixels, Quad-LED True Tone flash, Auto HDR, panorama, burst mode, face detection, exposure control, and digital zoom up to 5x.
The wider ƒ/1.8 aperture helps the camera capture more light in lower-light conditions.
Video Recording
The iPhone 7 supports 4K video recording at 30fps.
It can also record 1080p HD video at 30fps or 60fps, along with slow-motion video at 1080p at 120fps or 720p at 240fps.
Optical Image Stabilization also works during video recording, helping reduce unwanted camera movement.
Other video features include cinematic video stabilization, continuous autofocus, time-lapse video with stabilization, and playback zoom.
7MP FaceTime HD Camera
The front features a 7MP FaceTime HD camera with an ƒ/2.2 aperture.
It supports 1080p HD video recording, Retina Flash, Auto HDR, burst mode, exposure control, and face detection.
This represents a significant resolution upgrade over the 5MP front camera used on the iPhone 6s.
Touch ID & Security
The iPhone 7 features second-generation Touch ID integrated into its solid-state Home button.
Touch ID allows fingerprint authentication for unlocking the device and supported security functions.
PIN and passcode protection are also available.
Connectivity
The iPhone 7 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, and GLONASS.
It uses a nano-SIM and a Lightning connector for charging, data transfer, and compatible wired audio accessories.
Unlike the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 7 does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Battery & Charging
The iPhone 7 uses a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery and charges through the Lightning connector.
It does not support Qi wireless charging or MagSafe.
The available device is Open Box and comes with 85%–88% battery health, depending on the individual unit.
Actual battery performance may vary based on battery condition, mobile network, applications, display brightness, temperature, and individual usage.
Water & Dust Resistance
The iPhone 7 was the first iPhone generation to introduce an official water and dust resistance rating.
It carries an IP67 rating, tested under controlled laboratory conditions for water resistance at a maximum depth of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.
Water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and can decrease with normal wear.
Stereo Speakers
The iPhone 7 introduced stereo speakers, using the bottom speaker together with the earpiece speaker to provide a wider stereo audio experience.
This was another notable multimedia improvement over the iPhone 6s generation.
Storage Options
The iPhone 7 was originally offered in:
- 32GB
- 128GB
- 256GB
Apple later changed the available storage lineup during the product’s lifecycle, but these three capacities represent the original iPhone 7 storage options.
Everyday Experience
The iPhone 7 represents a substantial upgrade from the iPhone 6s while retaining Apple’s familiar compact 4.7-inch form factor.
Features such as the A10 Fusion chip, 12MP ƒ/1.8 camera with OIS, 7MP front camera, IP67 rating, stereo speakers, solid-state Home button, and 4K video recording distinguish it from earlier generations.
Its combination of Touch ID, aluminium construction, Retina HD display, and compact dimensions provides the familiar classic iPhone experience.
